Senior Java Engineer
Description
Excel Nearshore is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our talented engineering team. You will help ensure code is well-written and architected according to best practices for performance, scalability, reliability, and usability.
Responsibilities
- Be a hands-on, contributing developer on your team
- Create and/or operate an automated build pipeline that includes compilation and unit testing.
- Monitor escalation channels, investigate the issues.
- Work on issue resolution processes from root cause analysis to solution scenario ideation and validation.
- Clearly document processes and procedures.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience as software development.
- Proficient in Java, Spring and familiar with .NET.
- Experience with cloud computing preferably with AWS.
- Demonstrate ability to build enterprise-level software.
- Demonstrate experience with Cloud development.
- Extensive experience with Automated Testing (especially Unit and Integration, preferably also End-to-End and Load testing).
- Extensive experience with SQL.
- Extensive experience with REST Web Services.
- Experience with React, jQuery, and other JavaScript libraries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals across the organization.
- Experience with Build and Deployment automation (CI/CD).
- Experience with ticket/release management tools, e.g. Jira.
- Experience with Git (GitLab) and Jenkins.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- AWS certifications highly desirable.
