Excel Nearshore is seeking a creative and detail-oriented UI Designer to join the design team of a leading U.S.-based company specializing in customer loyalty and engagement solutions. In this role, you will design intuitive and visually polished interfaces for both web and mobile applications, ensuring a consistent and engaging user experience across platforms. You will collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and engineers to transform concepts and wireframes into high-fidelity mockups and production-ready assets. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative, SaaS-based products in a fast-paced, Agile environment. This is a fully remote and full-time position from Costa Rica, in payroll with benefits.
- Create visually engaging and user-friendly designs for web and mobile applications.
- Partner with UX designers to implement structured flows and bring designs to life through impactful visual storytelling.
- Build and maintain scalable design systems, ensuring brand consistency across all products.
- Translate wireframes into high-fidelity mockups, delivering production-ready UI assets to engineering teams.
- Apply responsive design principles to ensure usability across devices and platforms.
- Ensure designs follow accessibility best practices, including WCAG compliance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Iterate quickly on design concepts based on stakeholder feedback and usability testing.
- Manage multiple design deliverables while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
- 3–5+ years of experience in visual/UI design, ideally within SaaS product environments
- Proven ability to design intuitive, visually polished interfaces for both web and mobile applications
- Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Excalidraw, and Material UI
- Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-platform usability
- Familiarity with design systems, tokens, and scalable UI architecture
- Experience working within Agile product development environments and using tools like Jira, Confluence, and participating in Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily standups, retros)
- Experience producing production-ready UI assets and collaborating closely with engineering on end-to-end implementation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across Product, UX, and Engineering teams
- Demonstrated ability to translate wireframes into high-fidelity mockups and maintain design consistency across user journeys
- Ability to iterate rapidly and accept feedback from stakeholders, peers, and usability testing insights
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple polished design deliverables on tight timelines
- Comfortable partnering with UX designers to implement structured flows, and bring designs to life through strong visual storytelling
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and the design handoff process to engineering
- Strong visual creativity and attention to detail, especially around typography, spacing, layout, and color systems
- Familiarity with accessible design practices (WCAG compliance, color contrast, keyboard navigation, etc.)
