Description
Excel Nearshore is hiring a Ruby on Rails Developer with 5+ years of experience to join our client's team. The role offers the chance to work on impactful projects in a dynamic and supportive environment. This is a fully remote and full-time position from Costa Rica, in payroll with benefits.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
- Identify and fix bottlenecks and bugs in the application.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
- Write and maintain clean, scalable code following best practices.
- Integrate data storage solutions and third-party APIs as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development lifecycle, including automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 5+ years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience.
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining scalable web applications.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API integrations.
- Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and frameworks.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of automated testing and deployment processes.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote team environment.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
