Python Full-Stack Developer
Description
Excel Nearshore is looking for a Python Full Stack-Developer to work with one of the most innovative manufacturers of educational materials in the United States: a thriving multichannel organization which specializes in top-quality products for the home and classroom, with a robust web business, multiple catalogs for early learning and elementary programs, as well as 60+ store locations and a sales force that is second to none. Thanks to the daily contributions of the amazing people who make up their team, this project has experienced continuous growth since the day it was founded in 1954. This is a fully remote and full-time position from Costa Rica, in payroll with benefits.
Qualifications
- Proven Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in software development, particularly in high-performance, scalable systems.
- Programming Expertise: Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and React. Experience with multiple languages is a plus.
- System Design Skills: Strong ability to design complex, scalable systems and architectures. Experience with micro-services, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems. Working on both front-end and backend applications.
- Data Structures & Algorithms: Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and their practical applications. Ability to optimize code for performance.
- Cloud Technologies: Hands-on experience with utilizing multiple AWS through IaC (Terraform). Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Experience with Firebase and/or Supabase preferred
- Software Development Lifecycle: Expertise in Agile methodologies, including experience with version control (Git), automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery with GitHub Actions.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience with debugging complex systems and optimizing performance.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Security Awareness: Understanding of software security best practices and experience implementing secure coding practices.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering, specifically within the retail sector.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Strong ability to implement and adhere to code reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products, especially in a retail context.
