
Excel Nearshore is looking for an Oracle OBIEE Analyst to support enterprise reporting and analytics within our client’s Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 12.2.1.2.0, focusing on dashboards, reports, and data visualization for financials, supply chain, and operations. This role ensures actionable insights in a MedTech environment handling regulated data, addressing fragmentation with tools like Power BI. Under senior guidance, you'll integrate L1/L2 support duties into the team, collaborate with EBS and Hyperion teams, and contribute to automations/AIOPS for enhanced BI efficiency. This is a fully remote and full-time position from Costa Rica, in payroll with benefits.
- Assist with OBIEE tasks: Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analyses using Repository (RPD), Answers, and Delivers; configure metadata, hierarchies, and security filters.
- Experience in designing star & snowflake schemas in OBIEE.
- Assist with building and updating the Physical, Business Model & Mapping (BMM), and Presentation layers, including joins, logical tables, logical columns, and calculation logic.
- Hands on with report & dashboard development, permissioning, authentication & authorization & able to draw insights from usage tracking data in OBIEE,
- Support ODI data integration workflows that load data from Oracle E-Business Suite, , and other source systems into reporting schemas used by OBIEE and downstream BI tools.
- Familiar & capable to customize OBIA adaptors for Oracle E-Business Suite implementations for AP, AR, GL & OM.
- Hands on experience in building ODI interfaces, scenarios, load plans, performance tuning & occasionally configure changes in BI ACM.
- Hands-on with code deployments in both OBIEE & ODI is a need.
- Fair understanding of SQL with concepts such as views, indexes, joins, materialized views, packages, procedures, functions in Oracle database.
- Monitor overnight data loads & take corrective actions in case of failures to minimize business impact.
- Handle integrated L1/L2 support: Triage and resolve BI-related tickets (e.g., report errors, data inconsistencies, performance issues) during business hours (1:00 AM CT Sun – 7:00 PM CT Fri); escalate P1 incidents impacting decision-making.
- Support BI processes: Gather requirements, build/test visualizations for EBS data (e.g., financial KPIs, inventory trends), and ensure integrations with sources like EBS, Hyperion, and Salesforce via SOA.
- Conduct basic root cause analysis (RCA) for issues, implement fixes under guidance, and optimize queries to improve report performance in medtech contexts.
- Enforce compliance and security: Apply row-level security, encryption, and audit logs aligned with ISO 27001, HIPAA/GDPR, and FDA guidelines for medtech data.
- Contribute to automations and AIOPS: Assist in AI-driven BI enhancements such as automated anomaly detection in reports to support year-over-year cost reductions and innovation initiatives.
- Collaborate with POD teams (Hyperion, Power BI, DBAs) on cross-tool issues; participate in QBRs by preparing trend data (medtech BI adoption for faster insights).
- Maintain documentation for repositories, reports, and changes; participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews and user training.
- Support transitions: Aid in testing during patches/upgrades and knowledge sharing with Power BI for hybrid reporting.
Success Metrics
- Achieve 98% report availability and accuracy SLAs, measured monthly via OBIEE logs, supporting MedTech operational insights.
- Resolve 90% of assigned tickets within SLA (e.g., P4 in 8 hours), reducing MTTR by 15% YoY through RCAs and automations.
- Monitor and mitigate overnight data refresh failures and ensure they complete before scheduled time.
- Complete 100% of compliance checks (e.g., ISO 27001/HIPAA) with zero findings in BI areas.
- Contribute to 10% BI automations (e.g., AI alerts) annually, aiding cost reductions and reviewed in fund reports.
- Earn CSAT >4.2/5 on tickets/QBRs, with growth in independent handling (e.g., 50% solo by month 6).
- 3-6 years of experience with Oracle OBIEE 12.x in on-premises environments, including RPD development, report building, and dashboard design.
- Understanding of BI flows, including integrations with ERP (EBS), data warehouses, and ETL processes in regulated industries like healthcare/MedTech.
- Proficiency in SQL, OBIEE tools (Answers, Publisher), and basic performance tuning (e.g., caching, aggregations).
- Familiarity with ITIL basics (incident, change management) and ITSM tools for ticket handling.
- Awareness of healthcare standards (PHI security, FDA reporting) and ISO 27001 controls (access in BI data).
- Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to document clearly and seek guidance proactively, focusing on impacts.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle BI Foundation Suite Certified Implementation Specialist or equivalent certification.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
