Excel Nearshore is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack Team Lead to join our leading engagement and loyalty solutions client’s team. In this leadership role, you will guide a cross-functional team of frontend and backend developers to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. You’ll leverage your expertise across the full technology stack to architect, develop, and maintain robust systems and user interfaces that enhance our workplace engagement platform. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about both people and technology. This is a fully remote and full-time position from Costa Rica, in payroll with benefits.
- Lead and mentor a team of full stack developers (frontend and backend), fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
- Architect, design, and implement scalable web applications using modern technologies including React, Next.js, Node.js, and Typescript.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices while ensuring secure and efficient data flow between frontend and backend systems.
- Oversee the implementation of responsive, accessible user interfaces aligned with UI/UX best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product, design, QA, and data engineering—to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Ensure code quality and maintainability through code reviews, testing strategies, and CI/CD best practices.
- Guide the adoption of DevSecOps and cloud-native practices (AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform).
- Help define and enforce development standards, architecture principles, and agile workflows.
- Stay current with technology trends and bring innovative ideas to the team.
- 5+ years of professional experience in full stack development with a strong track record across both frontend and backend disciplines.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, JavaScript, and Typescript.
- Deep experience with Node.js, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture.
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern UI/UX and accessibility standards.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Helm, Terraform).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
