Description
Excel Nearshore is looking for a Dell PowerFlex Storage Specialist who will provide expert analysis, support, and optimization for clients Dell storage environments, with a primary focus on PowerFlex hyperconverged infrastructure. This role ensures reliable storage operations, compliance, and seamless upgrades in a healthcare setting, serving as an escalation point and collaborator with client/Dell teams. The candidate will drive projects like storage updates, integrates AIOPS for automations, and contributes to innovation for cost efficiencies. This is a fully remote and full-time position from Costa Rica, in payroll with benefits.
Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of Dell PowerFlex (hyperconverged) and PowerStore (unified) storage systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Provide expert escalation for storage issues, running diagnostics, prioritizing impacts, and recommending resolutions in block/file/replication scenarios.
- Design and execute storage upgrades (e.g., PowerFlex updates), coordinating dependencies like compute management nodes and subsequent VMware integrations.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 27001 controls, PHI data standards (e.g., encryption at rest), and Quality System procedures, including security audits and log reviews.
- Develop documentation, specs, and reports for storage planning/upgrades; monitor capacity, replication, and migration processes.
- Contribute to strategic storage planning, including global backups/DR, system hardening, and hybrid optimizations.
- Analyze and recommend solutions for storage projects; apply ITIL/ITSM to track status, manage scope/budget, and mitigate risks.
- Support SLA governance and QBRs by analyzing trends (med-device data growth, ransomware threats) and proposing AIOPS automations for gains (e.g., predictive monitoring for reductions).
- Mentor staff/contractors and advise client teams on PowerFlex best practices, enabling knowledge transfer and low attrition.
- Collaborate on storage research, design, and implementation, tailoring to business needs like scalable data for neuro/sensory apps.
- Present insights effectively to all levels, building partnerships through proactive recommendations.
- Monitor storage interdependencies with infrastructure to resolve issues, supporting business continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in storage engineering, with 3+ years hands-on Dell PowerFlex.
- Preferred certification: D-PWF-OE-00 Operate.
- Expertise in PowerStore, hyperconverged systems, block/file storage, replication/migration.
- Linux/Windows proficiency, SANs, virtualization (VMware integration).
- AIOPS tools and managed services experience (Preferred).
- Knowledge of healthcare standards (PHI, ISO 27001).
- Language Skills: Read/ analyze business/ technical documents; write reports/ manuals; present/ respond effectively to managers, clients, and teams.
- Reasoning Ability: Solve complex problems with limited standardization; interpret instructions in various formats.
