C# Software Engineer

Excel Nearshore is looking for a C# Software Engineer to work with a cutting-edge, mobile-first technology company revolutionizing how users interact with urban mobility and payments in major cities across North America and Europe. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, distributed environment with a strong background in microservices and event-driven architecture. You'll be working on scalable systems that support millions of users and real-time transactions. This is a fully remote and full-time position from Costa Rica, in payroll with benefits.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable microservices with event-driven patterns.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
Work in a cloud-native environment with modern DevOps practices.
Contribute to solution architecture and technical decision-making.
Collaborate in a multi-region team based on SCRUM methodology.
Work with product management and client services to scope out work and define acceptance criteria.
Participate in code reviews to share expertise with the team, ensure code quality, and verify PCI compliance.
Help improve development standards, tooling, and processes.
Participate in technical decision-making within the team, taking a lead role where appropriate.

Qualifications

Experience with service-oriented or microservices architecture using synchronous (REST) and asynchronous (event-driven) integration.
Proficiency in C# and NET as you will be working on modernizing to .NET 8/9
Experience with GitLab and CI/CD.
Experience with Log Management and Observability tools.
Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
An excellent understanding of software engineering techniques.
Experience working in an agile development environment using processes like Kanban or Scrum.
Comfortable receiving guidance from people, leader and colleagues (e.g. Staff Developer, Senior Developer) and in turn helping share knowledge with others whenever possible in the spirit of continuous learning by all.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS/Azure.
Experience with Python 3 and Swift or Java/Kotlin.
Experience with deploying infrastructure using Terraform (IoC).
Experience with Docker Containers.
