Zscaler Security Engineer (SWG Implementation and Network Optimization)
Description
Excel Nearshore is seeking an experienced Zscaler Security Engineer to review, enhance, and optimize our client’s Secure Web Gateway (SWG) implementation and network configurations. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Zscaler solutions, network security, and automation to improve performance, security posture, and ease of use across our environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a thorough review of the existing SWG implementation and overall network configuration.
- Implement best practices, refine Zscaler policies, and introduce automation to simplify management and improve operational efficiency.
- Enable secure end-user access to sensitive resources (e.g., file shares and internal systems) without compromising security.
- Manage and enhance Zscaler DLP capabilities as needed to strengthen data protection.
- Develop clear and comprehensive process documentation and recommend quality-of-life (QOL) improvements for ongoing operations.
- Identify and implement potential ServiceNow integrations and automation workflows to streamline security processes.
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams to ensure knowledge transfer, alignment with best practices, and sustainable configuration management.
Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and Secure Web Gateway configurations.
- Strong background in network security, policy design, and automation (Python, APIs, or scripting experience preferred).
- Familiarity with DLP solutions and identity federation (SSO, SAML, or related technologies).
- Experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms and integration/automation projects.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and training skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams and stakeholders in a complex enterprise environment.
